Kwara Govt congratulates FUTA’s first female VC

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq congratulated the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure Professor (Mrs) Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, saying the rise of the institution’s first female Vice-Chancellor is a boost to gender equality.

A Kwaran, Prof Adenike Oladiji of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin, was announced on Thursday as the eighth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.

“I rejoice with the learned professor and lovers of gender equality about this achievement. This is another important milestone for fighters for gender inclusion and an inspiration for the girl child. Besides being an encouragement to the women, the appointment is indeed a testament to prof. “Oladiji’s years of academic excellence, display of excellent leadership skills and hard work,” the governor said.

“On behalf of the government and good people of the state of Kwara, I celebrate our own Prof Oladiji on this well-deserved appointment. This is indeed another record appointment that is in line with our administration’s gender inclusion policy. We are confident that Mrs. Vice-Chancellor will use her experience and leadership skills to improve the FUTA rankings in academia, research and innovation and community services. We wish her resounding success in this difficult task of building a 21st century university. ”
